"If we continually try to force a child to do what he is afraid to do, he will become more timid, and will use his brains and energy, not to explore the unknown, but to find ways to avoid the pressures we put on him."
~ John Holt

Conference Talks

We have recordings of all the talks since the 2006 inception of the Toronto Unschooling Conference available for purchase and download in MP3 format from Lulu:

Toronto Unschooling Conference Storefront

What I love about the conference talks is the depth of insight and clarity the speakers, experienced unschoolers themselves, reach. Taking advantage of lots of prep and writing time they delve intensely into their topic - an unschooling topic chosen by them as an idea they feel passionately about and wish to share with others on their unschooling journey. I am always amazed at the wisdom shared and how core concepts of unschooling weave throughout the talks each year, even as the topics themselves seem so diverse.

It's a beautiful thing.

This is my first time working with Lulu so if you have any problems please let me know what happened so I can do what I can to improve the process. Thanks!

Want to Make a CD?

The MP3 format file you download will play immediately in your computer's audio software, or you can transfer it to your portable MP3 player to listen to and enjoy. But if you'd like to create a CD of a talk you've purchased, most audio software such as Media Player or iTunes, will do that for you too!

For example, with Media Player, open the talk so that it is playing in Media Player, click on Burn, check that it's burning an Audio CD (not Data CD), select "Now Playing" (or make a playlist and select that), put a blank CD in your CD burner, and click Start Burn.

For iTunes, create a playlist, add the talk file, and click the Burn Disc button at the bottom. Be sure to select Audio CD as the disc format to be able to play it in a CD player.
